Alan Hirano? Well, of all the bass players I’ve known over the years, he’s one of the best. And he’s a great guy. The thing I like about him too is that he’s always thinking about music. He’s always got ideas. He’s very dedicated to presenting the music in a way that makes you take notice. It’s not half-assed.

Alan told me this was his favorite photo of him onstage. He also told me that the samurai drawing was done on a scrap of paper by a bandmate while they were watching the dress rehearsal for SNL. Has anybody got any clips of Alan on SNL?
